Baby boy for M.I.A.

M.I.A who was spotted pregnant at the Grammy Awards, has given birth to a baby boy last Wednesday. This was confirmed on her MySpace blog.

“My early stage labor kicked in around 2 AM after the Grammys,” she wrote. “He is healthy, fine, beautiful and the most amazing thing ever on this planet, of course I’m his mum!”

M.I.A., real name Maya Arulpragasm, will be planning a tour with her baby sometime next year.

M.I.A. Gives Birth to Baby Boy

M.I.A. has given birth to her first child, a baby boy, so read a confirmation on her MySpace which she wrote herself. In the message, posted on Saturday, February 14, M.I.A. said she delivered the newborn baby on Wednesday, February 11. The location, nevertheless, hasn't been disclosed.

Providing no details on his son's name, height, and weight, M.I.A. simply stated, "HE IS HEALTHY, FINE, BEAUTIFUL AND THE MOST AMZING THING EVER ON THIS PLANET." The infant's father is M.I.A.'s musician fiance Benjamin Brewer, who serves as the vocalist and guitarist of band The Exit.

M.I.A., who is catapulted to fame for her 2005 album "Arular", confirmed in October last year during the Diesel xXx Rock + Roll Circus in Brooklyn that she was pregnant. Spotted sporting a baby bump during the event, she told Pitchfork's Jessica Suarez in an interview prior to her performance, "I got engaged first, then I got pregnant, kids. I have to do the rounds-- go see my family and show them the belly."

Set to give birth on February 8, M.I.A.'s pregnancy was the source of much talk when on the same day she took the stage at the 51st annual Grammy Awards, performing "Swagga Like Us" with Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, T.I. and Kanye West. Up next for M.I.A. is a performance at the Oscars on Sunday, February 22.
